My answers to Tarushi’s questions
Are you an early-riser or a night owl?
Definitely an early-riser! This morning I woke up at 6:30 am. I love being the only one awake in the house, especially since I live with three crazy (but funny) siblings, and that early-morning calm is unmatched with any other kind of quiet I get. It’s also nice to watch the sun rise and see the gentle light stream through the windows. It’s also the perfect weather for short runs before breakfast.
If you can’t tell already, I absolutely love the early morning!
What are 2 of your quarantine achievements?
While I’m no chef (yet!), I made my first Bundt cake! It didn’t rise all the way, but still looked and tasted delicious!
I also got back into drawing and drew a beautiful picture of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul with some hot air balloons (inspired by my trip to Turkey last year). It was tough and took a few hours, but it turned out amazingly! I may even paint it later on.
What are some of your focuses or plans for the upcoming month, July 2020?
Back in March when quarantine officially started, I had a whole plan to eat healthy and exercise every day I could. I fell out of those habits last month, so my plan is to go back to it, little by little. I’ve already started by cutting out most sugars in my diet, but I still need to quell my chocolate addiction haha.
To do that, I made a “health” tracker in my planner, with two columns for eating healthy and exercising. Hopefully, I’ll actually be able to stick to my plan! 😅
What is your favorite cuisine?
That’s such a hard question to answer! I’m lucky to live with a family who loves experimenting with all types of cuisines. I love Indian food (though I’m biased since my parents are from India)! Jalebi and rasmalai are some of my favorite Indian desserts. And of course I love biryani and dosa and samosas and idli… the list could go on and on!
I also love Arab and Mediterranean cuisine, and Turkish food! Falafel, hummus, fatayer, and kabsa are so tasty, as well as baklava and kebabs. I just love all types of food from Asia and Eurasia, if I’m being honest. My taste buds are tingling just talking about it!
Which Hogwarts house would you be in?
I’m a Hufflepuff! I took the quiz a couple years back, and everyone I know agrees that it accurately describes me. I definitely do try to sprinkle kindness wherever I go, and I try to support everyone I love in the best way I can. 🙂
Some people say I should actually be a Ravenclaw, but I’m so glad I’m not. While being smart is an awesome trait, I’d rather be known for my kindness than my intelligence. That’s just my opinion, though.
What is your biggest fear/phobia?
I don’t want the people I care about to leave me, whether it be intentionally or not. But I’m trying to overcome this fear by realizing that in the end, I have to be okay with being by myself sometimes.
If you had full disclosure, what would be written on your tombstone?
I’ve actually never thought about this. Maybe, “The ninja who never gave up on herself, her loved ones, or the world.” It’s an interesting thing to ponder about! Maybe I’ll update it later. 😉
